PCX Markets only works with project partners who are registered under the most transparent and rigorous plastic credit standards available today. We currently have credits for select projects on our marketplace which adhere to PPRS, PWRS or OBP.
The Plastic Pollution Reduction Standard (PPRS)
The Plastic Pollution Reduction Standard (PPRS) is administered by PCX Solutions.
All credits issued under PPRS include both collection and recycling/processing in a single credit and every transaction is verified by a 3rd party auditor. The first PPRS version was published in April 2020.
The Plastic Waste Reduction Standard (PWRS)
The Plastic Waste Reduction Standard (PWRS) is administered by Verra. Credits under PWRS include verification and are issued for either collection or recycling. The first PWRS project was accredited in 2022.
The Ocean Bound Plastic (OBP)
Standard is administered by Zero Plastic Oceans. All credits issued under OBP have both collection and recycling in a single credit.
These three standards currently adhere to the most criteria of any tracked by the PREVENT Waste Alliance Guidelines on Minimum Requirements for Plastic Waste Recovery and Crediting Standards.
